Used Fender Custom Shop 1960 Stratocaster Heavy Relic Faded Aged Foam Green with OHSC

Used And Vintage Electric Guitars

For anyone looking for a killer Custom Shop Strat in a super cool color on a great deal, the search has led to this endpoint: a '60 Strat Heavy Relic in Faded Aged Foam Green.  This is a guitar that was originally here at Truetone as a new guitar, and is now back in again as a previously owned guitar....looking the same but over a thousand dollars less!  Here's the scop on it:

Early 1960 saw a major transition of the Strat from its original 50's version. New features that year included a rosewood “slab” fingerboard, three-ply mint green nitrocellulose pickguard, thinner oval “C” neck profile, and a tall metal spacer on the string guide. Further, it was the last year of the original “spaghetti” headstock decal (“Fender® Stratocaster® with Synchronized Tremolo”) before the addition of patent numbers.  For this recreation, the Custom Shop added several compelling player-centric features for greater tonal options and a heightened playing experience.

The Heavy Relic lacquer finish on the two-piece alder body imparts the look and feel of guitar that’s been played for years.  We know it's not for everyone, but for those who are into these finishes, this is a great one!  The relic work really came out nicely.  And, it's in great color - Seafoam Green is a classic 60's Fender look, and this one was given the Faded and Aged treatment.

The tinted quartersawn maple neck has a 1960-style oval “C” back shape, topped by a rosewood fingerboard with jumbo frets and a modern 9.5” radius for comfortable feel when bending anywhere along the neck.  It's a really great combination - there's a good reason why this neck shape, radius and fret size is one of the the most commonly requested neck specs on custom builds.

To give this Strat a little more juice and versatility, the Custom Shop loaded it with hand-wound Texas Special pickups, which are connected to Strat “1/2 Blender” wiring, which creates seven possible tonal options through neck-pickup blending in switch positions 1 and 2.  This is a really popular modification that players have made to the wiring on their Strats for years, and it comes stock in the his guitar.

Other features include Custom Shop vintage-style synchronized tremolo, vintage-style tuning machines, wing string tree with tall metal spacer, and a bone nut. Includes deluxe hardshell case, strap and certificate of authenticity.

The guitar is in excellent condition, and have been setup to play perfectly by the techs in our shop.  All of the original materials (including the COA are included).  It's a winner for sure, and likely to go fast.
