Want a guitar that is built as a tribute to the great Leo Fender? Check out this G&L Tribute Series ASAT Classic Bluesboy Thinline! This is a guitar that instantly familiar and has everything you want from this classic Leo Fender design, as he created G&L after he left Fender and is the last company founded and produced his innovative designs.
This instrument is from the personal collection of the late Brad Pie who played guitar in the 1990’s with the great Johnny Otis. Along with Johnny’s sons - Shuggie Otis (Guitar) and Nicky Otis (Drums) - Brad contributed guitar to the 1992 Grammy-Nominated “Spirits of the Black Territory Bands” by the Johnny Otis & His Orchestra group. Many of the instruments from Brad’s collection are uniquely modified and come with various customized accessories.
The guitar has been upgraded with custom knobs and a bullet switch tip, as well as strap locks. The included gig bag also has a bonus - a really nice leather strap, cable, and clip-on tuner.
The Tribute Series ASAT Classic Bluesboy is a semi-hollow single-cut body made with a swamp ash top and poplar. The semi-hollow body adds additional acoustics to your tone and balances the mids with the highs and low tones. It comes with a beautiful Orange finish that is striking and really displays the wood grain. It has a hard-rock maple bolt-on neck with maple fingerboard that provides stability and a snappy tone with 22 medium jumbo frets perfect for bends. It has comfortable feel with its medium C neck profile and 9.5" radius with a 25-1/2" scale.
With this G&L Tribute Series ASAT Classic Bluesboy, you get the best of both worlds of tone with a humbucker in the neck and a single-coil pickup in the bridge. The G&L AS4255C Alnico neck humbucker provides thick warm tones while the Leo Fender-designed G&L MFD single coil bridge pickup brings you articulate and chimey tones. Easily find your sounds with simple 3-way pickup selector with Volume and Tone controls. There is a solid traditional boxed-steel bridge with individual brass saddles for improved tone, sustain, and intonation. This ASAT has 18:1 ratio, sealed-back tuners to keep you in tune comfortably and accurately.
