Used '20 Fender Custom Shop 50's Vibra Telecaster Journeyman Relic Butterscotch Blonde w Bigsby & OHSC

Vintage And Used Electric Guitars

In 2019, the Fender Custom Shop released it's "Mid-Year Collection" of limited edition models.  The one that stuck out the most was '50s Vibra Tele.  It started with a Blackguard single-coil pickup and two popular Tele mods: a Bigsby B5 vibrato tailpiece and a Seymour Duncan Seth Lover humbucking neck pickup.

We ended up spec'ing out an alternate version of this guitar, with a different neck shape and finish package.  This Custom Shop creation was for one of our top customers, and it's now available for sale.  It's a unique creation that is perfect for any player wanting a 50's style Tele with a slimmer 60's style neck, with the added features of a Bigsby and a humbucker.

While the Vibra Tele was a Heavy Relic, we went with a Journeyman Relic finish on this one, to give it a less worn look.  However we did ask for heavy checking, and kept the Heavy Relic treatment for the back of the neck.  This gives it a super broken-in feel.  It has the Mid 60's Oval C neck shape, with a 9.5" radius and Medium Jumbo frets.  Coupled with the lightweight select ash body, this is an extremely resonant and easy to play Telecaster.

Of course, the main feature that jumps out at first look is the Bigsby tremolo.  For anyone that has had the pleasure of playing a Tele with a Bigsby on it, you know that this opens up a world of possibilities.  The Handwound 50-51 Blackguard Tele bridge pickups provides classic Tele twang.  The Seymour Duncan SH-55 humbucker gives you a smooth, articulate tone that has plenty of warm bottom end punch with sweet, cutting treble.  The alnico 2 bar magnet smooths out the high end and still retains a percussive feel.  This pickup is perfect for bringing out the natural harmonic content of the guitar's tone.

The guitar comes with the original Custom Shop hardshell tweed case. Please see pics of the case, although it loos like it went a few rounds with  Wampa, it is solid, aside form the torn up tweed.
Also includes the Certificate of Authenticity, Custom Shop strap and other accessories.  Virtually unplayed for the past year, we rate it as "mint condition" (well, it is a relic'ed guitar!).  Come to Club Fender @ Truetone Music to give it try, or order right here right now.
