A MODERN SPIN ON A JOHN D'ANGELICO ORIGINAL

The all-new Excel 59 is an old-school gem and modern spin on a John D'Angelico original designed in 1959. The 59's 16-inch-wide, 1.75-inch-deep, fully hollow body paired with an ebony fingerboard offers woody tone and crisp articulation. It features custom Seymour Duncan Great Dane P90s, exclusive to D'Angelico, offering a massive range of tones—from warm and wooly to big and brash. All paired with vintage-inspired details like a chickenhead selector and cupcake knobs, the 59 feels timeless. 

We just took in this previously owned piece, which was cared for and maintained nicely.  It's in excellent condition, nearly mint except for a very small ding (barely visible) near the front strap button.  The previous owner did modify it a bit, but just cosmetically - he switched the pickup covers and knobs from cream to black.  We think it looks a lot better like this, so we left it like that.  The original covers and knobs are included in the case, as are the gold straps locks if you want to put them on, plus the original paperwork.  It is the original hardshell case.

The guitar has been setup to play perfectly by the techs in our shop.  It's super comfortable to play, and would be easy to have strapped on for hours - the guitar weighs in at only 7.1 lbs.  We haven't had this model in here before, and we immediately fell in love with it, especially with this unique finish.  It's likely to go fast, especially at this price, so if you're into it, get it now before it's gone!
