Pre Owned 2016 Fender American Design 1962 Vintage Reissue Jazzmaster Fiesta Red With OHSC
2016 was a special time for the Fender American Design Experience. One could go to Fender directly and create a custom guitar, but outside of the Custom Shop. This guitar is the result of such an experience and this Fender American Design '62 Jazzmaster reissue and is a dreamchild guitar with plenty to offer.
The guitar is based on a '62 American Vintage Jazzmaster with vintage-style alder contour body in the classic Fender color of Fiesta Red; as an added bonus, it has a matching headstock. As everyone knows, a matching headstock takes the cool and makes it cooler. Speaking of neck you get a comfy maple neck with rosewood fingerboard, with a '62 vintage-style neck profile with a 7.25" radius and 21 frets. The neck is also bound, which is a nice upgrade. As a twist, it has dot inlays (typically when you see binding, you also see blocks).
With a set of American Vintage Single-Coil Jazzmaster pickups, you get the iconic Jazzmaster sound that made this a classic instrument. Clear, articulate punchy tones that are equally at home with clean or distortion, Jazzmaster players know how versatile this can be. This guitar comes with its Rhythm circuit with the two wheels for Volume and Tone of the Neck pickup. There are Master Volume, Master Tone which operate with the circuit switch in the down position. It also comes with a 3-Position Toggle to select either pickup of both.
This package includes the vintage-style tremolo and bridge for that iconic expressive pitch-bending. Vintage-style tuners with classic feel and tuning stability. The vibe is vintage and so are the specs.
The backstory on this Jazzmaster is this: it was originally built for Truetone Music, as a guitar for stock but with the previous owner's name on it, but when it landed, one of the guys here said "I must have that"....and bought it on the spot. He's had it since, until now, and it's available on the market for the first time.
What you are looking at is a one of a kind, incredible Jazzmaster in great condition. There is some finish chipping at the base (very small - see photos). That's pretty normal for a lacquer finish like this. It comes with its original hardshell case and case candy. The guitar has been setup to play perfectly by the techs in our shop and is ready to go!
