Masterbuilt 70th Anniversary 1954 Stratocaster®.
This is a limited run up to 70 pieces globally, available only select to Fender Custom Shop Showcase Dealers, at one each. We have received one of the first, built by esteemed Masterbuilder David Brown. It will be the only one here. So, once this one is gone, it will be gone for good!
Brought to life by the Fender Custom Shop's world-renowned Masterbuilders, its two-piece select ash body (with offset seam on the treble side) resonates with singing highs, sweet midrange and tight lows, and wears a gorgeous Wide Fade Two-Color Sunburst Deluxe Closet Classic lacquer finish. It has all of the looks and vibe of a guitar built in 1954, was never played and then emerged into the world again after decades hidden.
The stunning one-piece 5A Flame maple neck is fashioned with a special 70th anniversary Soft “V” profile based on an incredible Strat® neck from July 1954. This is topped with vintage compoundradius fingerboard (7.25” to 9.5”), 21 medium vintage (47095) frets and a 1.625” bone nut. It's super comfortable, easy to play, and has the "right" feel for a vintage guitar.
A trio of Custom Shop Hand-Wound ’54 Strat® pickups deliver that classic Strat® tone with clear, bell-like highs, routed through vintage ’54 Strat® wiring with wax paper cap and, for modern use, a five-way switching. This is the original sound of the Strat, the world's most iconic guitar.
Other premium features and authentic first-year Strat® appointments include a single-ply white pickguard and serial-number back plate, 1954-style ABS white pickup covers and control knobs, Custom Shop vintage synchronized tremolo bridge, vintage-style tuners, disc string tree, and special 70th Anniversary Stratocaster® neck plate. This limited edition model comes with a deluxe embroidered hardshell case, special “case candy” kit and certificate of authenticity.
